Clutch slave cylinder have issues, but changing it for a oberon solves everything. Also fuel pump is known to fail. So have a spare one with you for longer trips can save you. This engine is shared with the KTM 690 Enduro, Only word of caution make sure you use the very expensive Motul 10-60 recommended oil and i would change more frequently than the recommended 6k Recently I purchased a used 2020 KTM 690 SMC-R with 14k miles on it. When out for the maiden ride yesterday, the bike died when coming to a stop a few times. The bike slams hard into gear and I found shifting to be extremely harsh the entire ride. nikoloco. I believe that all 690's post 2012 have a larger displacement motor (a true 690), up from 654 cc for the 08-11 model years.
